Maria's Story

Farmers market_edited_edited.jpg

Cookies were ruined for me in 1993 when I ate the most delicious, soft, delicate, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookie.  After 13 years of searching for a cookie of the same caliber without any luck, I had to leave the country.  So, I went to Texas where my new friend Janis showed me that everything really is better in Texas when she left homemade chocolate chip cookies in my teacher mailbox. (I used my teaching career as a cover-up for the real reason I moved to the United States.)  What a delicious surprise those cookies were!  It was Janis who would lead me to the art of making decorated sugar cookies.
Today, "Mommy made cookies” and “Cook-cooks" are common sayings in our household. I am a mom to 2 young toddlers, working a career in Molecular Genetics while creating custom cookie and cupcake designs during my home bakery shift open from 9-2 a.m.
Welcome to my cookie page, where the treats are fresh and the smiles are free.
